Genesis360 Compact App Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 13, 2026
This policy covers the Genesis360 Compact mobile app for iOS and Android (the “App”). The App is published by Automation Research Group, LLC (“ARG,” “we,” “us”), which designs, builds and operates the Genesis360 Compact controller and its cloud service for SecureLogic USA. It explains what information the App and its cloud service handle, why, and the choices you have. Our website privacy policy covers automationresearchgroup.com.
Summary
- The App exists to set up, monitor and schedule Genesis360 Compact units. It collects only what that requires.
- We do not sell your data. We show no ads and do not track you across other apps or websites. The App contains no advertising or third-party analytics code.
- Your Wi-Fi password goes from your phone straight to your unit over an encrypted connection. It never reaches our servers.
Information we collect
- Account information. Your email address, name, role (for example installer or customer) and the sites you have access to. Accounts are created by SecureLogic, ARG or your installer. Passwords are handled by Amazon Cognito and we never see them.
- Unit and site information. Details of the Genesis360 Compact units linked to your account:
- unit identifiers and the names you give them;
- site names, street addresses and time zones (an installer enters the site address when setting up a unit, and the time zone is worked out from it);
- treatment schedules and run history;
- output and tank-level status, alerts, firmware versions, online status and Wi-Fi signal strength.
- Notification settings (optional). If you turn on alerts in the App, we store which alerts you chose and a push token for your phone. The push token is an identifier issued by your phone’s notification service so we can deliver alerts to that phone. We do not collect it unless you turn alerts on, and we delete it when you sign out or turn alerts off on that phone.
- Actions you take. When you change a schedule, start or stop a treatment, or add a unit, we record which account made the change and when, so the site has an audit trail.
- Technical information. Our cloud provider automatically logs basic request data, such as IP address, time and the service called, to operate and secure the service.
Information we do not collect
- Wi-Fi passwords. During setup you choose a Wi-Fi network and enter its password. The App sends them directly to your unit over an encrypted, authenticated local session. They are stored only on the unit.
- Camera images. The App uses the camera only to read the setup code on the unit’s label. Images are processed on your phone and are neither stored nor sent anywhere.
- Location. Android requires location permission before an app may list nearby Wi-Fi networks, and iOS asks for local-network access so the App can talk to the unit during setup. The App uses these permissions only during setup. It does not read, store or send your location.
- Contacts, photos, advertising identifiers and usage analytics. The App does not access them.
How we use information
- To sign you in and show you the units and sites you are authorized to see.
- To deliver schedules and commands to your units, and to show their status, history and alerts.
- To send alert emails you or your site administrator have subscribed to, for example low tank or unit fault.
- To support, maintain, secure and improve the service, and to diagnose problems with units.
- To meet legal, accounting and security obligations.
Who can see your information
- People at your site. Other authorized users of your site, and the installer responsible for it, can see its units and their history.
- SecureLogic USA. SecureLogic markets Genesis360 and supports its customers. Authorized SecureLogic staff can see account, site and unit information to provide that support.
- Service providers. Amazon Web Services hosts the service in the United States (Cognito, API Gateway, Lambda, DynamoDB, IoT Core and SES email). AWS processes data on our behalf under its data-protection terms.
- Notification delivery. If you turn on alerts, the alert text and your phone’s push token pass through Expo’s push service and your phone platform’s notification service (Google Firebase Cloud Messaging on Android, Apple Push Notification service on iPhone) to reach your phone.
- Legal requirements. We may disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of users or the public.
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.
Data retention
We keep account information while your account is active. Unit and site history is operational data belonging to the site. We keep it while the unit is in service so owners can review treatment records. When an account is deleted, we remove its personal information within 30 days. Where operational records must be kept for the site, we separate them from the deleted account. Backups roll off on their normal schedule.
Your choices and rights
- Access or correction. Email us to request a copy of your information or to correct it.
- Account deletion. You can ask us to delete your account at any time. See how to delete your account.
- Permissions. You can revoke camera, location, Bluetooth or local-network permission in your phone’s settings. You would then need to enter setup codes manually or grant the permission again when adding a unit.
- Push alerts. All alerts are off unless you turn them on. Change them at any time in the App under Account → Notifications, or turn off notifications for the App in your phone’s settings.
- Alert emails. Ask your site administrator or contact us to change which alert emails you receive.
Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act or the GDPR. Contact us to exercise them. We will not discriminate against you for doing so.
Security
Everything between the App, the units and the cloud is encrypted in transit:
- App and cloud traffic uses HTTPS.
- Each unit connects to the cloud with mutual TLS and a certificate of its own.
- Setup uses an authenticated, encrypted session protected by a code unique to each unit.
Access to data is limited by account role and site. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect the information we hold.
Children
The App is intended for businesses and their staff and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change. The date above shows the latest revision. We will notify users in the App or by email about material changes.
