Indoor Sensing
mmW-Pro
60 GHz mmWave Occupancy, People-Counting & Traffic Radar
Privacy-safe people counting, zone occupancy, and outdoor traffic monitoring — no camera, no PII, powered by TI mmWave radar.

ARG Sensor Modules
Count people. Count vehicles. Never pixels.
The mmW-Pro is built on TI's IWR6843 60 GHz FMCW mmWave radar — it measures range, velocity, and angle at once to detect presence, count people or vehicles, and report zone-level occupancy or traffic data, without capturing a single image or storing any personal information. The same sensor platform scales from short-range indoor occupancy to long-range outdoor traffic monitoring.
Built for Buildings and Roadways
Occupancy and traffic intelligence without the camera.
mmWave radar resolves range, velocity, and angle from reflected radio waves alone — centimetre-level precision, indoors or outdoors, in darkness, glare, rain, or fog.
No Camera. No PII.
Radar detects, counts, and tracks without capturing images or identifying individuals. Inherently privacy-safe and GDPR-compatible — indoors or in public spaces.
Range, Velocity & Angle
FMCW radar measures distance, speed (Doppler), and angle of arrival simultaneously — tracking up to 250 detected points and 20+ moving targets, whether people in a room or vehicles on a road.
Designed to Integrate
UART output connects directly to building controllers, BMS gateways, traffic cabinets, or host microcontrollers. Simple protocol, configurable zones and range.
Indoor or Outdoor
Radar is unaffected by darkness, glare, rain, or fog. Compact 4.3″ enclosure for indoor ceiling/wall mounting; weatherproof variant for outdoor traffic and perimeter use.
In the Field
One sensor. Indoors or out.
The same 60 GHz radar platform monitors traffic from a roadside pole or counts people inside a building — measuring, not watching.

Applications
Smarter spaces and safer roads start with knowing what’s moving.
From HVAC efficiency to intersection safety, accurate radar sensing transforms how buildings and roadways operate — privately.
Smart Office & Workplace
Right-size HVAC and lighting to actual occupancy. Desk and room occupancy, HVAC zone optimization, meeting room utilization, after-hours presence alerts.
Retail & Hospitality
Understand customer flow and dwell patterns to optimize layout and staffing. Entrance people counting, dwell time, queue depth, heat mapping.
Building Automation
Feed occupancy data directly into BMS and energy management systems. Occupancy-driven HVAC control, lighting automation by zone, energy utilization reporting.
Traffic Monitoring & ITS
Detect, count, and measure the speed of vehicles across multiple lanes at ranges up to 180 m. Intersection and free-flow monitoring, queue length, stopped- and wrong-way-vehicle detection for intelligent transport systems.
Smart City & Outdoor Spaces
Pedestrian and vehicle flow in plazas, campuses, and parking areas. Works in rain, fog, and total darkness — no camera, no personal data captured.
OEM Integration
UART interface, configurable zones, and adjustable range make mmW-Pro easy to embed in third-party controllers, kiosks, traffic cabinets, and building or city-management platforms.
Frequently Asked
mmW-Pro — FAQ
Common questions about the mmW-Pro mmWave occupancy and traffic radar.
How far can the mmW-Pro detect?
Range is set in firmware by mode and antenna — roughly 6 m for indoor occupancy up to about 180 m for long-range outdoor traffic monitoring, on the same TI IWR6843 platform TI specifies for its traffic-monitoring reference design. Detection zones and range are configurable.
Does it record or identify people?
No. It is radar, not a camera — it measures range, velocity, and angle from reflected radio waves. It captures no images and stores no personally identifiable information, so it is inherently privacy-safe and GDPR-compatible.
Can it be used outdoors for traffic management?
Yes. A weatherproof variant mounts on a pole or gantry and detects, counts, and measures the speed of vehicles across multiple lanes — for intersection and free-flow monitoring, queue length, and stopped- or wrong-way-vehicle detection.
Does it work in darkness, rain, or fog?
Yes. mmWave radar is unaffected by darkness, glare, rain, or fog — unlike cameras or PIR sensors.
How does it connect to my system?
Over the ARG Common Host API, a binary UART protocol shared across every ARG module. The sensor outputs occupancy counts, presence state, and per-target track data.
